To upgrade our software from any version of 2.29 to the latest version 2.29xxx all you need to do is:
1.) Please backup your current database files to a safe place (so you won't loose all your data), you can find your database file in "C:\POS\". If you have ver. 2.29 your database file will be one of these three files, depending on what software you currently have: PM229.mdb, RM229.mdb or SM229.mdb as well as the ML229.mdb file.
2.) Remove the current software by going to "Control Panel" and "Add/Remove Programs".
In here, you will get a menu of all the installed programs on your PC, find ours and select it and click on the button to remove it. In the program removal process, if you are asked if you want to keep any shared files, select "No" or "No To All", and delete all the files.
3.) Download and install the newest version of the software from our web page
www.AlexandriaComputers.com.
4.) Copy over the backup of the database, that you made in "Step 1", back into "C:\POS\".
5.) To use the new software, you need to run the new software file (in Windows under the program group "Alexandria Computers, LLC.") named "Pos Maid 2.29", "Restaurant Maid 2.29" or "Salon Maid 2.29" (depending on which one of our software titles you are using).
No new passwords will be required for this upgrade, given that you have fully activated the previous software version on the computer in question. If by any chance after all this, the software does ask you for a password, please e-mail us with the registration number so that we can provide a password for you.
